We meet a lot of people every day and the first thing we do is to introduce ourselves. We often introduce ourselves with just our first name when we meet people. Instead, try using your full name so people can remember it easier. We know how hard it is to remember people’s names, but introducing yourself with your full name really makes it easier for others. Unbelievable, huh?
Well, there are reasons to do so, your parents gave you a first and last name for a reason; don’t hesitate to use them both. The first couple of times you might feel it kind of ridiculous. You might think, who cares about my full name? But you’d be surprised to know that how differently people treat you when you say your first and last name. It’s memorable, it’s powerful, and it’s the differentiation between making a lackluster connection and a surprisingly great one.
You might think it’s too formal to use your full name, but the objective here is to make it easier for others to remember you. After all they probably know people with your first name, but no one with both your first and last name. And you know you will feel really good when people call you with your full name or your last name i.e., surname.
We would love to hear back from you on your experiences when you introduced yourself with your full name. Please send in your suggestions and comments in the comment box below.
